A mounting body of evidence has led to the realization that a primary purpose of Leadership is to lead change. Whether it’s to reduce overhead to meet cost challenges; develop, buy, or improve new capabilities; hire key personnel; increase production or service capacity; improve product or service quality – or all of these – it’s Leadership’s job to identify the right thing to do, decide on the time and priority of investments, and convince senior staff that you’re heading in the right direction. Leadership must judge and manage the risk of change, whether it’s cultural, technical, or political. As it turns out, new improvement frameworks, like the CMMI, provide exactly the right tools set to enable Leadership to lead change in a more informed, less risky, and more cost-effective manner. This hands-on workshop sets the stage for rapid, cost-effective improvement across the organization and prepares Leadership to perform its CMMI Leadership role.
The hands-on workshop is 6 hours long. The cost is $1199 for up to five senior leaders.
Effective process management is the key to getting a solid return-on-investment from scarce process improvement resources. It’s not just about writing a business process in response to CMMI requirements. It is about ensuring that the highest value processes are implemented and deployed in response to the need to improve the performance of business capabilities, so that business objectives can be achieved.
It’s about ensuring processes are not cross-purpose, and that they are “lean”.
It’ about building a process implementation infrastructure that enables the development, deployment, monitoring, and leadership of process improvement. It’s about developing and using a Process Architecture which establishes the requirements, solutions, and interfaces, and data flow among processes, technologies, stakeholders, capabilities and business objectives. Mature process management ensures that workforce, management, and Leadership understands their roles in developing and maintaining processes – the way the work is done. And it ensures that extra-CMMI quality frameworks are considered
The workshop provides a knowledge base, mechanisms, and hands-on development of the elements of an effective Process Management effort. Students must have licensed access to the CMMI.
The hands-on workshop is 5 hours long. The cost is $1099 for up to five students.
In certain situations which require expertise, but do not justify a full time position, it may make more business sense to hire part-time expertise.
